Hi,I have a battered old trunk that has the name of Major/Colonel G H Edwards of the 1st Bn Royal Fusiliers,South Africa.I am trying to find out what I can on him.Does any one know how I could trace his army career? I am assuming he took part in the Boer War,but it the trunk doesn't state this.It also has Col 1/c Records,Warwick-I am not sure what this refers to .Thankyou for any help;Ian.

IanR,

A warm welcome to the forum.

I have searched the roll for the 2nd Fusiliers but there is no officer of that name listed. I have also looked at the officers of the Royal Fusiliers listed in the 1903 Army List and again no match.

As an officer, you should be able to trace his history using the information in Army Lists and at the National Archives.

Good luck!
