Hiya,
I have:
Service number on his grave stone:- 3265 served in the 2nd Battalion Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment. That number would have been issued about 1890.

He joined the RW Surreys on 18 October 1890, stating he was then a member of the 3rd Battalion QRW Surrey which was a Militia (part-time) battalion. He would have gotten a free transfer from the Militia.
He served in both the 1st and 2nd Battalions. He was transferred to the Army Reserve in 1897. recalled in 1899 for the Boer War.

Can anyone help me what happened for this Regiment during the Boer War?
Thanks in Advance
Kind regards
Paul Williams

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the Welcome.
Yes I did a quick search and found this page.
Researching the family tree you never know what you are going to find or where in the world it will take you.
Kind Regards
