Has anyone had much dealings with the National Archives of South Africa?

I ask because it appears they may have information concerning the first wife of my Great Grandfather (my avatar.)

I have written down the relevant archive details, but I'm concerned about the next steps. I'm not sure which section to contact and the costs for services rendered.

I'm based in England so am not familiar with how these requests are dealt with in SA.

I recommend using a researcher to obtain the records. Depending at which archive they are stored, a researcher has contacts at each one. It would not cost too much to obtain a few records. Dealing remotely with the archive will be quite difficult.
I can personally recommend Audrey Portman on the CONTACTS section on this site, I have obtained many records from most of the different repositories in this way.

The Cape Archives (KAB) are 10 mins down the road from me.
