Henk,

I wonder if some post-Boer War SA DCMs were un-named when sent from the UK to SA.

For example I've never seen a named Natal DCM despite several being issued for the Bambata Rebellion.

Hi All

Here is another unusual group

This is as I bought them and I have left them as such. The are sewed together and had a safety pin at the back for wearing

QSA - Cape Colony Defence of Ladysmith - Tpr M Clifford Intel Corps
QSA - Defence of Ladysmith - Pte M Clifford Ladysmith Town Gd
KSA - SA01 Sa02 - Guide M Clifford FID
Royal Humane Soc Bronze medal - Montague Clifford Mar 30 1902

Looks like a double issue QSA and RHS medal for event at the end of the Boer War

Kind regards

Munroe

The Buxton book on the FID shows your man as with Maj. Gen Elliots Intel corps and entitled to CC/DL/OFS/TV/LN with other service in TMI and notes the KSA.
That is a very nice group, indeed.

Me again. I had a brief look at my CD of TMI and it shows him as 2319 Montague Clifford and earning C/O/T with TMI but medal (as we know) issued of Intell. Corps roll. Marginal note says served in LTG, ???? Guides (cannot read the script, Frank may be able to get a better look) and of course Intell. Dept.
