QSA (4) entitled to SA01 and SA02

Edward Pleass was born at Gosport, Hampshire, on 23 March 1868 and attested for the Royal Artillery on 10 May 1890. Discharged on 28 July 1892, he subsequently enlisted in the British South Africa Police and served in Rhodesia in 1896 (Medal). He saw further service during the Boer War the Imperial Light Infantry, being discharged on 22 October 1901 at Pietermaritzburg, and subsequently with Steinaecker’s Horse from November 1901 to February 1903.

Aged 28 at StH attestation. Height 5’8T4”, brown eyes, black hair. NOK: brother, Staff-Sergeant, Royal Army Medical Corps, Aldershot, England. Discharged at Komati Poort on 7 February 1903 on disbandment of regiment. He qualified for the QSA medal with clasps Tugela Heights, Relief o f Ladysmith, Laing's Nek, Transvaal, SA 1901 & SA 1902.

Chas. Alfred Noble Transport Sergeant served from 10 November 1899 to discharge at Pietermaritzburg on 31 March 1901. Entitled South Africa 1901 bar.

QSA (4) Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith., Transvaal, Laing’s Nek (309 Pte W. E. Clack. Impl: Lt Infy)

Medal severely rubbed on all surfaces.
Walter Edwin Clack service from “P.T.C. Corps from which attached in South Africa” (Heading of Roll) from 8 October 1899 to 31 January 1902.
