QSA (1) Relief of Ladysmith (5852 Pte. W. Smith, Rl: Wt: Surrey Regt.)

W. Smith served with the 2nd Battalion, Royal West Surrey Regiment in South Africa during the Boer War, and was wounded at Spearman’s Camp on 21 January 1900.

Stored in an old leather pouch.

Together with a stamped name plate 'The Queen's Own, Royal West Kent Regiment, 3080 R. Nichols.' Stamped 'Duty' to the reverse, by Hobson and Son, Lexington Street, London.
