Oh yes on the frank mark, the 1.10 must be the actual time received at the post office. I've never seen the medal but my Nan came from a large family so one of the others may have had it.

Three press clippings of interest - the first regarding the departure of the Orotava from Southampton, the second indicates she arrived at Table Bay, Cape Town on 16th March 1901, the third indicates that she did not disembark the troops she carried at Cape town but moved further up the coast to Durban to disembark them.
